The Northwest snowboarding community rallied together to give back to their local scene by participating in Snowdays Foundation’s third annual golf tournament. Players warmed up with an Adidas Snowboarding putting contest and a marshmallow drive contest to raise funds for Kevin Nimick’s medical expenses. Once out on the links, golfers found themselves at different theme holes from driving blindfolded to strapping into a snowboard to hit their tee shots. Nike Snowboarding held a hole-in-one contest for a custom Holiday Motorcycle, and although Devun Walsh got within feet of the hole, no one sunk it. We had many winners, but it was the team from Cinco Design who dominated with the best score of 58 and earned custom trophies by Sally Butler of Volcano Cones. Ultimately, the event doubled the previous year’s tournament fundraising total and will cover nearly all of Snowdays’ programming expenses for the coming season, even allowing for expansion.
